James Felix Martin

James Felix Martin, resident of Tonkawa, Okla., passed away Friday, April 22, 2011, at his home. He was 67.
The service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the Victory Worship Center with Pastor Rick Hughes, officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
James was born on December 28, 1943 to Felix “Red” C. Martin and Alta C. (Anthony) Martin in Borger, TX. He grew up in Borger, attending and graduating school at Borger High School. James started his career as a Plant Operator for the Phillips Petroleum Company in Borger, TX. He
transferred to Ponca City where he worked for the Jupiter Chemical Plant until his retirement.
James enjoyed racing stockcars and auctioneering for Nicholson Auction & Real Estate, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
He is survived by his two daughters, Kimberly Barr and her fiancé Brian Bufford of Ponca City, Okla.; Kerrie Jeffries and her husband Kevin of Ponca City, Okla.; eight grandchildren: Kelsea Barr, Kevin Barr, Jacob Barr, Jenna Barr, Hope Bufford, Kelly Avey Jeffries, Kaden Jeffries, and Hayli Jeffries; two sisters, Mary Ingram of Borger, TX, and Wilma Dennis and her husband Bobby of Fritch, TX; and former son-in-law Steve Barr of Ponca City, Okla.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and one son Johnny Martin.
Casketbearers will be Steve Barr, Jacob Barr, Kevin Barr, Brian Bufford, Kevin Jeffries, and Kaden Jeffries.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be Homer Nicholson, Cecil McClarnon, Gene Hurst, Furman Simmons, David Lawson, John Jack, and Ray Paschen.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 1904 N. Union, Ste 103, Ponca City, OK 74601.
