James Edward “Heavy” Walker

AMARILLO – James Edward “Heavy” Walker, 82, died March 19, 2011, in Amarillo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with Pastor Bobby Bradshaw of Lighthouse officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at the funeral home.
Mr. Walker was born Sept. 16, 1928, in Durant, Okla. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Walker married Joyce Madding in 1952, and she preceded him in death in November 2004. He worked for Affiliated Foods, driving a truck for 20 years before retiring in 1990. After retiring, he enjoyed going to the motorcycle races with his great-grandkids.
Survivors include five sons, Eddie Walker of Umbarger, Gary Walker and William Walker, both of Amarillo, and Kenneth Walker and Dennis, both of Fritch; 22 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
