It’s time to bash the trash!

April 6, 2012

Next week is the time for citizens to bash their trash!
The City of Borger will be holding its upcoming trash bash April 9-14, 2012. It is sponsoring this free week for county residents to bring their trash to the transfer station.
Kathie Harber, who is with the City of Borger, said tire disposal will also be an available service for locals during Trash Bash Week.
“Tire disposal for residential customers will not have a limit during this week,” she said.
Beverly Benton and Crystal Irvin at the Borger Chamber of Commerce are working to help get the word out to the public, Harber said. She said the city is hoping for good weather all week and for a record amount of trash to be collected.
“The City appreciates the help from the volunteers taking time out of their busy lives to help the community,” she said. “If you know of someone that needs community service hours, this is a great project for them.”
The Texas Department of Transportation furnished heavy duty white “Don’t Mess With Texas” trash bags. City employees delivered trash bags to participants this week.
The transfer station and tree limb disposal areas will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday of Trash Bash Week.
For more information on the upcoming Trash Bash, call Harber at Borger City Hall at 273-0908, David Arthur at the Transfer Station at 273-0977, or Benton at the Chamber of Commerce at 274-2211.
