Idalou gets a win over Sanford-Fritch in Bi-District playoff

May 1, 2012

PLAINVIEW-On Monday evening, the Idalou Lady Wildcats got a 10-0 win over the Sanford-Fritch Lady Eagles in their 2A Bi-District Playoff Round one game series.
The Lady Eagles struggled to get much going at the plate, connecting for one base hit and getting a base runner to second base once through five innings of play.
Idalou got on the scoreboard early in the first inning, off a three-run home run to give the Lady Wildcats a 0-3 lead. In the second inning, the Lady Wildcats continued to stay hot at the plate by scoring five more runs off of five hits to build a 0-8 lead.
The Lady Eagles settled down on the field, but their woes at the plate kept them from being able to put together runs to spark a comeback.
Idalou added a run in both the third and fourth innings to leave Plainview with the 10-0 win after the fifth inning.
The Lady Eagles end the 2012 season, while Idalou advances to take on Colorado City in the 2A Area Playoff Round.
