Hutchinson County burn ban lifted

March 27, 2012

The Hutchinson County burn ban has been lifted for the time being, allowing residents to burn their trash freely.
On Monday, March 26, 2012, Commissioners met at the County Courthouse to discuss with Hutchinson County Fire Marshal Danny Richards whether to consider or approve continuing or rescinding the County’s burn ban.
Richards stated, “We received really good rain last week and we are also forecast for rain again this week. Although conditions are not perfect, we still have the chance to burn trash and that kind of stuff, so I have no problem with pulling the burn ban. We can let things green up.”
Hutchinson County is free of the burn ban till further notice.
There are still some fire hazards out there and citizens should burn with care.
