The Honorable Beverly Fern McClure (Retired), 74, of Borger passed away Monday, June 20, 2011.
Beverly Fern (Weightman) McClure was born Thursday, February 25, 1937 in Hardeman County, TX to Leslie P. and Myrtle Belle (Ballard) Weightman. She married Bobby Lee McClure in Clayton, New Mexico. Among her many accomplishments, she was the first female deputy of Hutchinson County.
Beverly also served as Justice Of The Peace Precinct 2 from 1987 to December 1998.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee McClure on August 10, 1970; her parents, one sister, and one brother.
Survivors include her son Jim McClure and wife Susan of Amarillo, TX; two daughters, Vicki McClure of Paducah, KY and Kelly Homan and husband Terry of Fritch, TX; two sisters, Arlene Weightman of Dumas, TX, and Helen Sharpe of Alto, TX; 10 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2011, at the First Southern Baptist Church in Fritch, TX, with burial to follow at Northlawn Memorial Cemetery in Dumas, TX.
Mrs. McClure will lie in state at Brown Chapel in Fritch, TX, on Thursday, June 23, 2011, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 23, 2011, from 6-8 p.m.
