Hollaway Parker, age 76, passed away at his ranch in Coleman County on Thursday, June 14, 2012. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 18 in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Stovall officiating. Private interment will follow under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Hollaway Parker was born November 10, 1935 in Coleman County, Texas, the son of Hollaway Parker, Sr. and Bernice Buck Parker.
He grew up in Coleman County and moved to Borger at age nine but still spent many summers in Coleman County. He graduated from high school in Borger and then served for two years in the United States Army. On September 22, 1956 he married Gerda Eva Roth in Mannheim, Germany.
He was a carpenter for Phillips Petroleum for 30 years in Borger. He and his wife retired to their ranch in Coleman County in 1984. He loved his family and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Parker of Coleman; two daughters, Debbie Little of Coleman, Donna and husband David Winkle of Borger; two grandsons, Trey Little of Odessa and Dylan Winkle of Borger; two great-grandsons, Tyler Little and Jake Little; one sister, Becky Parker Potts of Plano; cousin, Jo Ann Eddleman of Coleman; nephew, Joel Potts of Trabuco Canyon, California; niece, Rebecca Shank of Redmond, Washington.
