Herman S. Mos

Herman S. Mos, 87, formerly of Borger, passed away, Wednesday, April 13, 2011.
Herman Strickland Mos was born Tuesday, June 5, 1923 in Le Flore, OK to Claud and Oma Minnie (Strickland) Mos. He married Billie Clark on September 1, 1946 in Fort Smith, AR. Herman served his country in WWII and in Korea as a Sergeant First Class in the United Stated Army. He retired as a supervisor for Phillips Petroleum Company. He was a deacon at the First Baptist Church’s in Borger, TX and Amarillo, TX. While in Borger, Herman was very involved in the Living Waters Benevolence Ministries. This ministry meant a great deal to him and was very close to his heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Gay Lynn Mos in 1972; one sister, Deann Staton; two brothers, Claud Mos and Darvil Mos.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Mos; his son, Fred Mos of Plano, TX; three brothers, Fred Mos of Sallisaw, OK, Alton Mos of Kansas City, MO and Eddie Mos of Independence, MO; one sister Wilma Lukins of Kansas City, MO; two granddaughters, Marquel Copple and husband David of Plano, TX and Dr. Amy Mos and husband Danny of Dallas, TX.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Monday, April 18, 2011 at Brown Chapel Of The Fountains in Borger, TX. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery, Borger, TX.
Mr. Mos will lie in state at Brown’s Chapel in Borger, TX on Thursday, April 14, 2011 from 12:00PM to 5:00PM and Friday, April 15, 2011 from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Living Waters Benevolence Ministries, 335 N. Main St., Borger, TX 79007.
