Helen’s Christmas Project getting underway

November 21, 2011

Every child deserves a Christmas.
And this is exactly what Stinnett citizen Helen Mooney had in mind when she came up with the idea of “Helen’s Christmas Project.”
Helen’s Christmas Project is designed to offer Christmas for those less fortunate.
“She never wanted a kid to go without a Christmas,” said Crystal Rogers. Rogers has taken over the project this year and wants to make it a very successful one.
Locals can “adopt” a child to shop for, but first they will need to fill out an application. Applications will need to be turned in by Nov. 22, 2011, but if there are late ones, they will not be turned away.
This project is for children between the ages of newborn to 18. Rogers will also take donations to help the children that don’t get picked.
Those wanting to take part in this project can pick up applications at City Hall from Rogers. Starting the first of December, Rogers will be making appearances at the Senior Citizen Hall on Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to collect donations. The main request is clothes and toys. For more information call 806-395-3698 or email Rogers at crystalrogers85@gmail.com
