Health fair set for this Friday

Come out and enjoy a day of fun and still learn what essentials are needed to keep your body healthy at the annual health fair.
Once again, Hutchinson County will hold its annual Health Fair. This year’s health fair, set for Friday April 27, 2012, will be at Frank Phillips College, Center for Access and Innovation, 901 Opal, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Golden Plains Community Hospital will be offering blood screening at the event. The Hutchinson County Health Fair educates residents on preventive health care, sound health practices, and local access to these services and helping agencies.
This year’s health fair welcomes guest speakers, who will begin speaking at 10 a.m. Among the speakers are the Hutchinson County Sheriff’s Office (BEWARE… It could happen to YOU! Identity Theft and Scams in the area, What they are seeing in Hutchinson County), Val from DSHS (Medicaid) at 10:30 a.m.; TTUHSC (Alzheimer’s and the family) at 11 a.m.; Rhonda Green (“Immortality: The Facts” presentation) at 11:30 a.m.; Amerigroup (Medicaid) at 1 p.m.; and Wes Phillips speaking about Poisonous plants and bugs.
Salvation Army will be on site with a trailer for those who want to donate.
This year’s Health Fair is sponsored by Borger Chamber of Commerce, Borger News-Herald, Frank Phillips College ( School of Nursing and School of Cosmetology), and Golden Plains Community Hospital (Day Surgery, OR, Food and Nutrition Service, Home Health Care, Infection Control, Laboratory Services, Rehab Services, Rural Health Clinic, Social Services and Women’s Center).
Participants in this event include 1926 Fitness, Adobe Ranch Apartments, Adult Protective Services, Allcom Med Alert, Amarillo Laser & Vein Clinic, American Cancer Society, Anytime Fitness, Borger Police Department, BSA Hospice, Bulldog Insurance, Coffee Memorial Blood Center, Coalition of Health Services, Inc., Division for Rehabilitation Service, Familia Dental Amarillo PLLC, Golden Phoenix & Behavioral Health Services, Hospice Care of the Southwest, Hutchinson County Relay for Life, Hutchinson County Museum, I am Celebration, Interim Home Health & Hospice, New Beginnings Nutrition Center, Nu Skin, Open Road Mobility, Outreach Health Services – WIC, Pampa Medical Group/Pampa Regional Medical Center, and Panhandle Healthcare Inc.
