The Hutchinson County United Way (HCUW) is looking for projects for their Day of Caring on April 28th.
The Day of Caring gives volunteers in the community an opportunity to come together to give their time and services to work on a one-time project in an effort to impact our community’s needs with tasks they are unable to perform themselves.
HCUW is asking people to submit project requests if they know of someone within the community who is elderly or disabled and in need of help with home improvement projects.
Projects include: basic home repairs, wheelchair ramps, gutters cleaned, winterizing a home for elderly or disabled, painting, yard clean up, housekeeping, carpentry and odd jobs.
All jobs will be limited to four hours of work and filling requests is dependent upon the manpower available.
Types of work not approved for Day of Caring include: work requiring permits, bathrooom remodeling, outside paint jobs, roofing, gas lines, plumbing, and work on rental property.
If you would like to submit a project for Day of Caring, call 806-274-9424, before the April 7th deadline. Call early due to the limited number of job requests that can be met.
HCUW will not have a Day of Caring in the fall this year.
