The holiday we all know as Halloween is tomorrow, and there are many safe, clean, and fun options for local citizens to consider as they celebrate the holiday.
â€˘First Baptist of Borger, 100 South Hedgecoke, will host a Trunk or Treat in its north parking lot from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31. There will be a costume contest at 7 p.m. and door prizes given away at 7:30 p.m.
â€˘Word of Life Fellowship invites the community and surrounding areas to its HALLELUJAH NIGHT event, scheduled for 5:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31. The church is located at 101 Caprock. Events will consist of games, a cakewalk, and a costume contest. The costume contest will begin between 7:30 and 8 p.m. There will also be prizes and free hot dogs and frito pies will be served and the event is for all ages. People are also encouraged to come and see the churchâ€™s 349 pound pumpkin.
â€˘Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 1106 Cleveland, is hosting a Trunk or Treat on Wednesday Oct. 31 from 6 p.m to 8 p.m.
â€˘Fellowship Baptist Church invites the community to attend its first annual Halloween Carnival on Oct. 31 fro 6 p.m to 9 p.m. The carnival will be in the parking lot across from the church at 305 N. Deahl. There will be games, food, drinks, and candy.
â€˘First Church of the Nazarene in Borger, 501 Kaye, will be hosting a Box Maze and Trunk or Treat Carnival from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31.
â€˘Three churches have come together to present to the community a â€śFall Festival.â€ť The special occasion will be this coming Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 6-9 p.m. in the new Family Life Center of Bunavista Baptist Church, located at #2 Amaryllis Street in Bunavista. The St. Andrew United Methodist Church, the Iglesia Bautista Hispana, and Bunavista Baptist Church have come together to provide a great evening for the community celebrating the Fall Festival. There will be a variety of games for children of all ages, there will be a sack of candy and other items for everyone who comes, and available for purchase will be soft drinks, hot dogs, nachos, frito pie, etc. You are invited and it will be a great evening of fun and fellowship.
â€˘On Wednesday night, Oct. 31, Eternal Light Church of Borger will continue its 25-year tradition of having what has been called for years â€śHallelujah Nightâ€ť. â€śHallelujah Nightâ€ť is an event that has been fashioned as an outreach to our community to provide an alternative to the children and youth of the Borger area to come together for a night of entertainment with games, food, door prizes, and awards for best costumes.
Those who attend will be offered free hot dogs and frito pie, with a drink.
Another special feature will be â€śblessing sacksâ€ť which will contain lots of candy, and given out to the children 12 and under. With each game that is played, children will have a choice of prizes they can collect.
Bingo has been a popular game with adults in which â€śwhite elephantâ€ť items can be selected from by the winner. The traditional cake walk will provide an opportunity to get some of the best home baked goods in Hutchinson County, prepared by some of the best cooks in the State of Texas. Door prizes, which will be awarded by drawings at the conclusion of the nightâ€™s activities will include a $25 gift certificate from United Supermarket, a gift set from Bath and Body Works, a shampoo and haircut by July Gibbs at Donmar Style Salon and a free car wash from Lendy Tate.
You must be present at the drawing to receive the door prize if your number is drawn.
This year we have added a new attraction. At approximately 9 p.m., a special movie entitled â€śHouseâ€ť will be presented by our youth group Radical Outbreak (R.O.B.).
Free popcorn will be available to everyone. The concession stand will be open for purchase of other â€śmunchies.â€ť A $50 Visa gift card will be given as a door prize at the end, to the person holding the winning ticket. Activities will begin at 6 p.m. and conclude with a costume contest between 8-8:30 p.m.

â€˘Fairlanes Baptist Church, 3000 Fairlanes Boulevard, will hold its fall festival from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31. There will be food, a bounce house, door prizes, candy, games, and fun for all ages. All of the activities are free.
â€˘First United Methodist Church, 200 North McGee, will hold its annual fall festival from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31. There will be lots of games and bingo with desert prizes, cookie walk and a black maze.Â
