October 16, 2012

A serious wreck occurred on Highway 136 Saturday, leaving a Fritch woman dead and a Stinnett man seriously injured.
According to DPS Trooper Gabriel Medrano, at 2:10 a.m. on Saturday morning, the driver of a Chevy pickup, Noah H. Moore, 21, of Stinnett, was traveling eastbound on Highway 136.
The driver of a Chevy Silverado, Debra Marquez Hefner of Fritch, was traveling westbound on Highway 136.
Moore crossed into the westbound lane of traffic and struck Hefner head-on, causing both vehicles to overturn. Hefner was pronounced dead at the scene and was wearing her seat belt. Moore was transported to Northwest Texas Hospital in serious conditions with internal injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt.
“I have not heard anything about alcohol being a factor at this point. The crash is under investigation,” said Medrano.
