December 5, 2012

A Fritch home was fully engulfed in flames due to an explosion.
On Monday, evening, a manufactured mobile home on the 200 block of Chisum Trail in Fritch was claimed as a total loss due to the extreme amount of damages caused by fire. Fritch Fire Department received the 911 call around 4:40 p.m.
Upon arrival, the Fritch FD requested help from the Hutchinson County Fire Department, Fritch Police Department and Fritch EMS.
According to Hutchinson County Fire Marshal Danny Richards, witnesses reported an explosion, which explained the blown-out windows.
Fire departments had the fire under control at 7:30 p.m. All three occupants were able to get out of the residence with no injuries. According to Richards, the cause of the explosion is still under investigation and officials are still attempting to contact the home owner for further information.
“Evidence has to be gathered and sent to Austin for results,” said Richards.
