The Fritch Area Chamber of Commerce banquet is set for this Saturday.
Tickets are still available for the banquet, which will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at the Sanford-Fritch Junior High Cafeteria. The deadline to purchase tickets is tomorrow.
The banquet will be catered by Tio Pancho’s Restaurant in Fritch. Tickets for the event are $11 for adults and $6 for children ages five and under. The menu will include beef and chicken fajitas, all the trimmings, drink, and dessert.
Tickets for the event are available at Tio Panchos, Lowe’s Grocery, Pantex Federal Credit Union, and Daylight Donuts. Tickets can also be purchased from any Chamber of Commerce member.
Judy Allen of the Fritch Area Chamber of Commerce said the 2012 Man and Woman of the Year will be announced and honored. In February, nomination forms were placed in several locations throughout Fritch and citizens were asked to nominate someone who had been of service to and helped the community.
“The votes have been tallied and the list of nominees is now complete,” she said.
Those nominated for Man of the Year include James Kennedy, Robert Stitzel, Ivan Wade, Bobby Lamb, James Treadwell, Kirk Coker, Bill Wilson, Kevin Keener, Gerald Purdy, Justin Unwin, David Wilkinson, Aaron Zink, and Joe Cunningham.
Nominees for Woman of the Year include Heather Unwin, Jennifer Hudson, Jessica Cummings, Tonya (Hester) Coker, Crystal Mattiza, Tara Huff, Paula Gibbs, Nancy Bruce, Carolyn Brown, Judy Allen, Leslie Bass, and Roxie Stitzel. All nominees are encouraged to be in attendance at the banquet.
Cowboy Ken Lewing will serve as emcee for the banquet and will provide a portion of the entertainment. Again this year a silent auction will be held as a fundraiser for the Chamber of Commerce.
“A variety of auction items for men, women, and children have been donated by local merchants,” Allen said. “Items are still being taken for the auction.”
Those wishing to donate should contact a Chamber officer at the numbers listed below.
In addition, Chamber members are raffling off $100 in groceries courtesy of Lowe’s Grocery in Fritch. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and will be available the night of the banquet until the time of the drawing. Tickets are also available from any member of the Chamber. Door prizes will be given away during the evening as well.
For further information on the banquet, securing tickets for the meal or the drawing, or to donate items for the silent auction, contact Chamber president Vicki Wilson at 898-4109, vice-president Gene McCallie at 282-7026, or secretary Judy Allen at 674-6460.
