Fritch Chamber banquet set for April 2

Crystal Mattiza and Kee Ruland were named the 2010 Fritch Women of the Year at last year’s Fritch Chamber banquet

The annual Fritch Chamber of Commerce banquet is coming up in less than two weeks!
The banquet will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, at the Sanford-Fritch Junior High Cafeteria on Eagle Boulevard.
The 2011 Man and Woman of the Year will be announced and honored during the banquet.
Woman of the Year nominees includes Jessica Grishem, Jady Glosson, Kathy Harrah, Kathy Harris, Jeanie Henson, Tara Huff, Renee Laney, Carolyn Mathews, Sara Ledford, Jeannie Olson, Vicki Wilson, May Wright, and Melanie Wyble.
Man of the Year nominees include Randy Astle, Walter Burke, Martin Church, Calvin Flood, Kevin Keener, Dwight Kirksey, Bobby Lamb, Ken Lewing, Gene McCallie, Billy Olson, Coach Phillips, Keith Reed, Justin Unwin, Victor Vargas, and Donnie Wall.
In addition, the Fritch Fire Department, Fritch Police Department, and the Men and Women of Emergency Services were nominated. All nominees are encouraged to attend.
Tickets are $10 per adult and $5 for kids six and under, and are available at Lowe’s Grocery in Fritch, Daylight Donuts, Tio Pancho’s, Cut Loose Beauty Shop, or may be obtained by calling Chamber President Vicki Wilson at 898-4109.
The banquet will be catered by Tio Pancho’s Mexican Food Restaurant in Fritch. Fajitas and all the trimmings will be served, as well as drinks and homemade desserts, donated by Chamber members.
Ken Lewing will serve as emcee for the evening and will entertain those in attendance. Several local entertainers are also on the slate for the evening.
A silent auction will be held again this year with items ranging from tool sets to home decorating items and everything in between.
“The Fritch Chamber sincerely appreciates the generosity of Hutchinson County merchants in donating for this important event,” Judy Allen of the Chamber said.
A drawing for $100 worth of groceries, courtesy of Lowe’s Grocery in Fritch, will also be held. Tickets are available at the same locations for the drawing and are $1 each or six tickets for $5.
All proceeds from the ticket sales, drawing, and silent auction go toward the programs that the Fritch Chamber of Commerce supports each year, including Relay For Life of Hutchinson County, the Community Easter Egg Hunt, Howdy Neighbor Day, and other local events.
