Friends of the Library to hold book sale

March 15, 2012

Are you ready to find some great books at a great price?
The Spring Book Sale, offered by the Hutchinson County Friends of the Library, is just around the corner. On April 19-21, books of all kinds and jigsaw puzzles will be available at the Borger library for low prices.
Hours for the sale are 2-7 p.m. Thursday, April 19; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, April 20; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 21. Prices are 50 cents for adult hardbacks, 25 cents for children’s hardbacks, and all paperbacks will be two for 25 cents. In addition, puzzles are 50 cents and gift books are only 25 cents each.
“A great variety of genres is being offered: adult fiction arranged alphabetically by author, nonfiction, biography, cookbooks, Christmas and craft sections, religion, classics, and children’s selections,” Lydia Fowlkes, who is with Friends of the Library, said.
The books and puzzles are provided through donations from the public and discards from the county libraries. Donations are accepted year-round at the Borger library except the week preceding a sale.
Those with books or puzzles to donate need to do so now while Friends members have time to arrange them for the sale.
All proceeds from the sale will go to the three county libraries to provide funds for items that cannot be acquired through the regular budget.
