Frank Phillips College Plainsmen wrap up 2012 baseball season

On Saturday, the Frank Phillips College Plainsmen baseball team wrapped up the 2012 season with a pair of losses to the #9 Howard College Red Hawks 11-1 and 10-0.
In game one on Saturday, Howard’s Clayton Crum had a good outing on the pitcher’s mound by getting the win and limiting the Plainsmen to two hits. At the plate, Howard scored at least one run in every inning.
Chance Harlen had a double for the Plainsmen, while Andrew Landin drove in the lone Plainsmen run.
Zach Johnson got the loss on the mound for the Plainsmen.
In game two, four Red Hawk pitchers teamed up to cap off the regular season with a no-hitter. David Gates got the start for the Red Hawks with Austin Blunt, Dominic Moreno, and Reid Scoggins each seeing time on the mound in the Howard win.
Jacob Gonzales got the loss on the mound for the Plainsmen.
The Plainsmen end the 2012 season with a 16-34 overall record, 10-22 in WJCAC play.
Howard improves to 25-7 in WJCAC and 41-10 overall.
The Region V Tournament will take place this weekend with Howard College, New Mexico Junior College, Clarendon College, and Western Texas College representing the WJCAC in the tournament field.
