FPC Volleyball falls in home opener

Kiewiet goes up for the kill.

The Frank Phillips Lady Plainsmen played their first home game of the season on Monday, September 10th and lost in straight sets. The ladies took on Dodge City Community College out of Kansas. They never could quite get ahead in the first set and lost 25-20. Despite being up 15-13 in the second set, they ended up with another loss 25-22. The third set was off to a quick start as Allison Kiewiet of Dumas had four kills for the Lady Plainsmen to go up 4-1 early. After an ace from K'Lyn Brigance of Bushland, the ladies were down 11-10. Ramie Hutto of Pampa had a great block at the net, followed by two more kills from Kiewiet, and the ladies were still down 16-14. Kaylyn Wright of Amarillo then added three kills to the mix, but FPC would fall 25-19 in the third and final set. They will play Midland at home on Wednesday night at 7:00pm.
