FPC Plainsmen split games with NMMI

On Friday, the Frank Phillips College Plainsmen split the first two games of a four game series with the New Mexico Military Institute Broncos 1-7 and 13-7 in WJCAC play in Roswell, N.M.
In game one, Broncos’ pitcher Abdel Rivera shut down the Plainsmen bats for most of the game by allowing one run on two hits through seven innings.
The Broncos broke the game open in the second and third innings by scoring six runs.
The Broncos opened game two scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning. But the Plainsmen were finally able to get their bats going by scoring four runs in the fourth inning and six in the sixth inning to start pulling away for the 13-7 win.
In game two, Canyon freshman Coby Roming had a triple and four RBIs, while sophomore Cesar Wong had two doubles and two RBIs.
Jacob Gonzales got the win on the mound in the game two for the Plainsmen.
The final two games of the series took place on Saturday in Roswell, N.M.
