FPC Plainsmen split doubleheader with Odessa College

ODESSA-After a two-day delay, the Frank Phillips College Plainsmen and the Odessa College Wranglers began their four game WJCAC series on Sunday with the Wranglers winning game one, 4-13, and the Plainsmen winning game two, 11-7.
In game one, the two teams were in a tight 4-5 game until the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings where the Wranglers scored a combined eight runs to take a 4-13 lead.
Alfonso Aguilar had a triple in the game, while Sam Martin got the loss on the pitcher’s mound for the Plainsmen.
In game two, the Wranglers had a 3-1 lead until the fourth inning, where the Plainsmen scored four runs.
The Wranglers tied the game at 5-5 in the bottom of the fifth inning. But the Plainsmen scored three runs in the seventh and eighth innings to pull away for the win.
Cesar Wong had three doubles and two RBIs, while Aguilar had three RBIs in the win.
Jacob Gonzales got the win on the mound for the Plainsmen.
The Plainsmen go to 6-14 overall, 2-4 in WJCAC play.
The Plainsmen and Wranglers concluded their series on Monday.
