FPC Plainsmen add two more for 2012-13 season

June 11, 2012

On Wednesday, Frank Phillips College Head Men’s Basketball Coach Chris Hackett announced the signing of Nick Barnes and Gary Gladden for the 2012-13 season.
Barnes, an Alabama native, gives the Plainsmen another 6-6 player who Hackett expects to make a big impact on defense. Hackett commented, “A wing with incredible athleticism. Plays above the rim, but handles the ball well and shoots the three consistently. He is big for his position and has a lot of length that will cause a lot of problems defensively.”
Gladden, 6-2, comes to FPC from Florida and will give the team a player that can play both guard positions. On what Gladden brings to the Plainsmen, Hackett said, “ Gary has a very high basketball IQ and good court vision. He has a good outside shot, but a quick first step and he does a great job finishing at the rim.”
Hackett is excited about the two new players, saying, “I’m really excited to have both Nick and Gary in our program. Their style of play fits in well with how we play and they both have college ready bodies. I expect them to have a chance to contribute immediately.”
