After serving the past two seasons as the Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen’s top pitcher, Kiana Levy signed to continue playing softball at the colleigate level at Webber International University located in Babson Park, Fla., outside of Orlando.
Levy had been considering offers from a couple of different schools, but was the impressed with the educational opportunities and the atmosphere Webber provides, saying, “I plan on studying business marketing and Webber is known as being one, if not the top, business schools in the state of Florida. The school is kind of small, like Frank Phillips, which is something I like and the community just seemed like a great place to live.”
Levy joins a Lady Warriors team that has been rebuilding this season under first year head coach Bobby Green.
However, Levy is looking forward to having the opportunity to help lead have success on the field, saying, “Coach Green played within the New York Yankees farm system for several years and I know he understands what it will take in turning the program around. He has done a good job of bringing in good players so I believe we will be able to come in and get the job done.”
Levy, a Northern California native, will look back on her two years at Frank Phillips with fond memories, saying she enjoyed her experience here and had a lot of fun with her teammates and coaches.
FPC Lady Plainsmen Head Coach Jenneffer Kohler appreciates what Levy has done with the team saying, “She is a good pitcher who has earned this opportunity. Even though we haven’t accumulated as many wins as we would like as a team, when she is on the mound she has given us a chance to be successful and that is all you can ask for from your pitchers.”
