FPC Lady Plainsmen open season beating Trinidad St.

November 3, 2011

The Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen opened the 2011-12 season on a high note by defeating Trinidad State College 75-55 in Trinidad, Colo.
In the second half, Trinidad St. was able to pull within six with ten minutes to go, but a 9-0 run gave the Lady Plainsmen the separation the team needed to get the 20 point win.
Laura Martinez had a big night off the bench scoring 18 points.
FPC Head Coach Eric Rodewald was pleased with the way his sophomore and the team played, saying, “Laura provided a spark off our bench scoring 18 points. She was all over the place. I was pleased with our total team effort.”
The Lady Plainsmen travel to Lubbock on Thursday to take on Lubbock Christian JV at 5:00 p.m.
