Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen sophomore setter Grecia Rivera has signed on to join the Wayland Baptist University Lady Pioneers volleyball team.
The Chihuahua, Mexico native joined the Lady Plainsmen before the 2011 season and established herself as one of the best setters in the country in the JUCO ranks, earning WJCAC All-Conference honors.
On what Rivera can potentially bring to the Lady Pioneers, Wayland Baptist Head Volleyball Coach Jim Giacumazzi said, “I am very excited to a have quality player like her. She has played volleyball at a very high level and the talent she brings will help us win the Sooner Athletic Conference.”
Giacumazzi added, “She is a young lady of substance and has a personality that is very pleasant and she has proven herself in the classroom as one that can achieve goals. All of our players fell in love with her the moment she stepped on the court and practiced with us.”
