FPC’s Evans signs with Texas A&M-Kingsville

April 20, 2012

Mike Evans

Frank Phillips College Men’s Basketball player Mike Evans has signed a letter of intent to play for Texas A&M-Kingsville.
Evans was a forward for the Plainsmen the past two seasons. In the 2011-12 season, Evans started 12 games and averaged two points and three rebounds per game. He also averaged 1 block per game, which was third in the league, and did several things for the Plainsmen on the defensive end which did not make its way to the statbook.
On having Evans sign with Texas A&M-Kingsville, Frank Phillips College Men’s Head Basketball Coach Chris Hackett said, “I’m really pleased that Mike will be continuing his career with the Javelinas. I have known Coach Peterson for a long time and he runs a first-class program. Mike has meant a lot to this team, in many ways that don’t show up in the statistics. His defensive presence and maturity were invaluable with such a young team.”
Evans is 6-6 and is a native of Arlington.
