Fern Fleming Cain

Fern Fleming Cain, 96, passed away Saturday April 2, 2011, in Borger at her home.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. James Stephens, pastor of First Christian Church of Borger and Rev. Jim Fox of Amarillo officiating. Burial will be at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Dirctors of Borger.
Fern was born April 3, 1914, at Johnson County, Ark., to George and Minnie Fleming. She was a resident of Borger since the early 1930s. She graduated from Borger High School and Amarillo Business College. She married Norman Cain March 21, 1936, at Lubbock. Fern was a secretary for the National Park Service at Lake Meredith. She was an avid bird watcher, member of the First Baptist Church, Athena Club, and Bird Watching Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Irvin Fleming, and grandson Kevin Jackson.
She is survived by a son Jim and wife Charolette of Hastings, Okla., daughter Aileen Cain Jackson of Borger, and grandchildren, Kenneth Jackson, Karen Wakefield, Craig Jackson, Shanna Cain Davis, and Jack Cain.
