Borger PD launches investigation, seeking info from public

Citizens are working together to find a man who may be attempting to kidnap children in Borger.
Facebook has become a large source of information for citizens on the matter, and the response keeps growing.
On Tuesday, May 15, 2012 around 9 a.m., a post was put on Facebook that read as follows: “For the people in Borger in or around Buenavista. A dark silver truck parked in front of my house earlier and tried to lure my son to it. It was a older white man in a ball cap and sunglasses. when my neighbor stood outside and looked @ him he drove away. We don’t know this man and I wanted to let everyone who has children know this and to be on the lookout for the vehicle. It scared the crap out of me. Watch your kids xtra close when they’re playing outside.
This man also attempted to lure a child at a local bus stop this morning.”
The identity of the person making this post has been kept confidential for their protection. This post alone has gotten over 50 responses, stating the same man has been around town attempting to lure children to his car.
According to Lt. Anthony Griffin of the Borger Police Department, they are aware of the situation and an investigation was put into place this the morning pertaining to the information in the post.
Borger PD asks for anyone with information to call Borger PD at 273-0930 or Crime Stoppers at 274-6371.
