Election time is here!

The time to elect members to the Borger and Stinnett City Councils is officially here.
Election Day is set for tomorrow, May 12. Borger residents will be electing a new citizen to represent the Borger City Council in Place One as current council member Leon DeWeese is stepping down. Seeking the spot are businesswoman Brandy Callahan and Eternal Light Church Pastor William Adams.
On Saturday, Precinct 11 voters will cast ballots at Borger Middle School, Precincts 33 and 42 will cast ballots at Paul Belton Learning Center, and Precincts 14 and 23 will cast ballots at Fairlanes Baptist Church. Voting on Election Day will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The general election for Stinnett City Council will take place Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Stinnett City Hall, 609 Mackenzie.
Candidates running for City Office in Stinnett are Alderman Place 2 - Kim Johnston (Re-Filed) and April Couch, Alderman Place 3 - Donnie Hayes (Re-Filed) and Justin Hart, and for Alderman Place 5 is Jeff Irvin.
For further information on voting in these elections, call Borger City Hall at 273-0905 or Stinnett City Hall at 878-2422.
Voting in the primary elections will begin this coming Monday. Watch the weekend paper for early voting places and information on what to expect on Republican and Democratic ballots.
