Edwina Antonia Martinez

Edwina Antonia Martinez, 79, died Saturday in Borger. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Johns Catholic Church, with Father Richard Zanetti officiating. Rosary will be Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Johns. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Edwina was born in Newkirk, New Mexico to A.C. and Abelina (Garcia) Barela on July 27, 1933. She married her husband, Casiano “Casey” Martinez on August 3, 1951 in Clovis, New Mexico. Edwina was a Eucharistic Minister and Member of the Altar Society. She lived in the Borger area for 34 years as a homemaker.
Edwina was preceded in death by her mother Abelina Barela, a sister Nancy Sena, and two brothers, Moises Barela and Joe Barela.
Edwina is survived by her husband, Casey Martinez; four sons, Tony Martinez and wife Trini of Henderson, Nevada; Daniel Martinez and wife Elvia, and Ray Martinez and wife Lorretta, of Amarillo; and Joseph Sena and wife Yolanda, of San Angelo, Texas; two daughters, Diana Springfield and husband Mike of Denver, Colorado; Lily Totty and husband Kevin of Amarillo. Edwina had eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
