Did you attend the free gun law workshops last week at Frank Phillips College or the Borger Chamber office?

As of January 1, 2016, individuals can carry a handgun openly or concealed as long as they are licensed by Texas or a state with reciprocity. The Borger Police Department and Chamber of Commerce presented three free gun law workshops last week at Frank Phillips College and the chamber office to educate the public about the recent changes. Each workshop was designed to inform citizens and businesses in Borger concerning new open carry gun laws, active shooter response awareness, and answer other related gun law questions. The Borger News-Herald is curious to hear reader feedback concerning the new laws and the open carry workshops offered last week. Let us know what you think. Did you attend?

Three workshops were scheduled. The first was Tuesday, January 12 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Frank Phillips College A&I conference room. The second workshop was Thursday, January 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. also in the Frank Phillips College A&I conference room. The final workshop was Friday, January 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Borger Chamber of Commerce board room located at 613 N. Main.
