Dennis Keith Burney

Dennis Keith Burney, age 57, of Deer Park, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2014, while being comforted by his wife Christina Burney. Dennis was born September 27, 1956 in Borger, Texas, to Lloyd Wayne and Alma May Burney. He grew up in a large family that included five siblings. Dennis graduated Borger High School in 1975 and shortly after married Andrea Nolen. Together they had three children Jeff, Adam and Deniese. In 1977, Dennis began working at Phillips Petroleum Company as a mechanic. During his 20 years at Phillips, Dennis spent most of his time working at the Round Top. In 1998, he moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area to work in sales for Prime Equipment. While living in Arlington, Dennis married his second and current wife Christina Callas on Sept. 30, 2005. Later that year, Dennis, Christina and her son Matthew moved to Deer Park, Texas. Dennis enjoyed working with his customers and spending time with his family at the beach. Dennis is survived by his spouse Christina Burney of Deer Park, Texas; children Jeff and Anne Burney of Okinawa Japan, Adam and Kuminko Burney of Arlington, Texas, and Marcus and Deniese Burney Dodson of Borger, Texas; step children Ryan Mann of Arlington, Texas, Angela Callas of Arlington, Texas and Matthew Callas of Deer Park, Texas; grandchildren Minako Compton of Arlington, Texas, Kate Dodson of Borger, Texas, Amelia Burney of Okinawa, Japan, John Dodson of Borger, Texas and Nolan Burney of Okinawa, Japan; mother, Alma May Burney of Borger, Texas; siblings Lloyd Burney of Borger, Texas, Mary Burney Drinnen of Amarillo, Texas, Bruce Burney of Amarillo, Texas, Lorita Burney Woods of Windham, Ohio and Marlene Burney Boles of Borger, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father Lloyd Wayne Burney. Remembrance service will be held at Eternal Light Church on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at 2 p.m.
