Deala “Dee” Gunnels

Deala “Dee” Gunnels, 75, was received into the hands of God, November 28, 2012 while in a Fort Worth hospice facility.
Celebration of Life: 11am Saturday, at Covenant United Methodist Church;3608 Matlock Road, Arlington.
Interment: Llano Cemetery in Amarillo.

Dee was born December 29, 1936 in Abilene, Texas to Robert Eugene and Mildred Duncan. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1954. She lived in Borger with her late husband, Mark, and worked as the office manager at Borger First United Methodist Church before retiring after 18 years of loyal service. After Mark’s passing, Dee resided in Amarillo before moving to Arlington 6 years ago. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church and worked there as the church secretary. A testament to her faith was her love for people and always making sure others were taken care of. Family was important to her and she loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. Dee will always be loved and forever missed by her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Gunnels and brother, Robert Duncan.
Survivors: son, Dale Gunnels and his wife Maggi of Churchton, MD; daughter, Tana Marks and her husband Al of Kennedale, TX; grandchildren, Chris and Heather Marks of Kennedale; brother, Lowell Duncan and wife Betty of Carrollton; numerous, nieces nephews and other relatives.
