Deahl Howe

PANHANDLE - Deahl Howe passed away peacefully at home at the age of 90 on July 3, 2011.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Panhandle Cemetery with Rev. E. Lynn Howe of Billings, Montana, officiating. Interment is under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. Visitation will be Friday July 8, 2011, at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m.
He was born at Rana, N.M., on Sept. 5, 1920, and was raised in Panhandle. He excelled in football, basketball and boxing and participated in Golden Gloves in school and attended Texas Tech. He farmed and ranched near Prichett, Colo., south of Ft. Pierre, South Dakota and later moved to Fountain Hills, Arizona, and then moved to Selma. He served in the Navy during WWII.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Lillie Belle, one daughter Karen Von Hemel, Lamar, CO, one stepson Terry Tackitt, San Antonio, TX, 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his two sons, Larry Deahl and Anthony Dale “Tony”, his parents Johnny and Agnes Howe, 4 brothers and 1 sister.
