FRITCH-On Friday afternoon, the Dalhart Lady Wolves built a big lead early in their 17-3 win over the Sanford-Fritch Lady Eagles in non-district softball action.
The Lady Wolves wasted little time getting on the scoreboard by bringing in five runs in the top of the first inning.
The Lady Eagles responded in the bottom of the first inning by scoring a run on a passed ball at home plate.
But five walks and two errors helped the Lady Wolves score five more runs in the second inning to take a 1-10 lead.
In the bottom of the third inning, the Lady Eagles were able to get some positive things going offensively, with Toni Ann Salas scoring on a passed ball and Tiffani Hester coming across home plate on a double steal.
But the two runs would be the final Lady Eagle runs of the game, as the Lady Wolves forced the 10-run rule after the fifth inning.
The Lady Eagles were scheduled to travel to Amarillo on Saturday to take on San Jacinto before taking time off for spring break.
