This weekend all three Hutchinson County high schools will be a part of the nine team field in the 2011 Sanford-Fritch Volleyball Tournament.
The tournament gets underway Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. with pool play, followed by bracket play starting around 3:30 p.m. and continuing on Saturday at Sanford-Fritch High School.
Pool A will consist of Sanford-Fritch, Borger, Memphis, Perryton and Childress. Pool B will have teams from West Texas High, Amarillo Highland Park, Ft. Elliott and Amarillo Holy Cross.
During pool play the teams will play two games to fifteen with a cap of 20 points. Seeding for bracket play will be determined by win-loss record with tie breakers being determined by head-to-head play and fewest points allowed.
During bracket play, matches will be best two out of three to 25 with a cap of 30 points.
All three county teams enter the tournament with a little momentum due to Borger winning matches on Tuesday over Hereford and Amarillo River Road. Sanford-Fritch is riding a two-match win streak and West Texas High pulled out a five-game win over Guymon on Monday.
Borger won the Sanford-Fritch Tournament in 2010.
