Country artist coming to Borger stage

October 27, 2012

A well-known country music artist is making his way to the Borger stage.
Collin Raye, known as a certified Nashville hit-maker and platinum recording artist, will be in concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at the Borger High School Auditorium. The concert is being brought to Borger by the Tri-City Concert Association.
According to All Music Guide, Raye's voice sounds as rich and smooth as ever. His debut on Billboard in 1991 began a career that placed 32 titles on the listing, which includes four number one hits, “Love, Me” (1992), “In This Life” (1992), “My Kind of Girl” (1995), and “I Can Still Feel You” (1998).
His vocal style has given Nashville its banner artist for songs that are rooted in real-life experience and social responsibility, which includes song like “Little Rock” about recovery from alcoholism and “I Think About You,” which deals with child advocacy.
His passion extends beyond the stage, and he has used his time in the spotlight to advance causes such as First Steps, Al-Anon, Special Olympics, Catholic Relief, and Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Raye is also the national spokesperson for the Terri Schiavo Life and Hope Network.
He has recorded under the Epic, Country Roads, and Saguaro Road labels, as well as his own imprint, StarPointe Records.
The Tri-City Music Concert Association has been presenting nationally acclaimed artists to Hutchinson County and the panhandle of Texas since 1948. The association is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization, and in partnership with its patrons and sponsors, is committed to enriching the cultural life of Borger and the surrounding communities through live performances offered at affordable, family friendly prices.
There is a subscription package available for adults, seniors, and families, and single tickets for this concert are also available.
