The Borger City Council received four requests pertaining to zoning issues for consideration during its regular meeting Tuesday afternoon.
The requests for zoning were as follows:
•Arvind Patel, specific use permit for the placement of a manufactured home to be located at 1415 West Wilson Street (rear).
•Matt Armstrong, request to re-zone Lots 17-27, Block 5, Original Townsite, from a retail zoning district to a commercial zoning district to be known as 900 North Main.
•Maricel Martinez, request to re-zone Lots 9-10, Block 49, Original Townsite, from a general residence zoning district to a retail zoning district to be known as 315 Coble.
•Racheal Oeleis, request to re-zone Lots 4-6, Block 66, Isom, from a general residence zoning district to a neighborhood service zoning district to be known as 1111 Roosevelt.
Public hearings on each of these requests were set for May 1, 2012, to allow for public comments.
Pertaining to Patel’s request, Mayor Jeff Brain requested that a picture be brought to the council to give it a better idea of what the manufactured home would look like. Petr agreed to the request. He said seven letters were sent out to property owners within a 200 foot radius, with three protests returned and one approval returned. However, he said the approval has now turned into a protest.
