Council to hear city water quality report

Information on the City of Borger’s water quality will be presented at the upcoming meeting of the Borger City Council.
The meeting is set to be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011, in the city council chambers of Borger City Hall.
The council will hear a report on the city’s water quality from Winston Sauls, who manages operations at the city water plant. Sauls holds a TCEQ Class A Water License, and is a Certified NELAC/EPA/TCEQ Water Lab Director.
Sauls will also present recommendations on how the citizens of Borger can help with water conservation.
Information on the city’s water quality report will run in tomorrow’s edition of the paper.
In other business, the council will act on a resolution granting naming rights to field #2 at the Johnson Park Sports Complex, a resolution pertaining to the Texas Gas Service Company’s Rate Schedules and Tariffs, minutes from its first regular June meeting, and expenditures for the first half of June.
A time for questions and comments from citizens will be held. Citizens who have indicated their desire to speak to the City Council will be heard at this time.
In compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, unless the subject matter is on the agenda, City Council members are prevented from acting on the subject and may respond only with statements of factual information or existing city policy.
However, City Council members may refer the person making the comment to a staff member or request city staff to place the subject matter on the future open meeting agenda. Citizens are limited to three (3) minutes for their presentation to the City Council.
