Howdy Neighbor Day in Fritch is just a little over a month away.
The annual celebration will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Fritch City Park.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. proceeding from the post office area to the City Park. Floats and decorated vehicles will be judged again this year for first, second, and third place prizes.
The theme is, “Come as you are,” with a little patriotic flavor added.
Judy Allen, secretary of the Fritch Area Chamber of Commerce, said that immediately following the parade, the midway of booths will open for business at the park. Vendors will sell all kinds of food, have raffles, games, and contests, and sell various arts and crafts and other items.
Booths are still available for the event. A 10 x 10 foot space is $20 and a 20 x 20 foot space is available for $40. All trailers over 20 feet in length will be $60 for the one-day event.
Electricity is available on a first come, first serve basis. Allen said that if special electricity is needed for trailers, it must be noted on the booth rental form that needs to be filled out and returned prior to the event.
The deadline for securing a booth for Howdy Neighbor Day this year is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28.
Those having booths may begin setting up on Friday evening from 5-8 p.m. The park will be guarded on Friday evening and will open at 7:30 a.m. so that setup may be completed before the parade starts at 10 a.m.
Those interested in having a booth or participating in the parade are urged to call Allen at 674-6460 or Chamber President Vicki Wilson at 898-4109.
Howdy Neighbor Day is sponsored by the Fritch Area Chamber of Commerce.
