Clarendon downs Lady Comanches

April 2, 2011

The West Texas Lady Comanches hosted the Lady Broncos from Clarendon on Friday.
It was a close game through five innings, with the score was tied at two until the top of the sixth. That’s when four WT errors and busy bats from Clarendon gave them seven runs along with two more in the seventh to give the Lady Broncos a 11-2 victory.
Danielle Heater was on the mound for the Lady Comanches. She struck out eight and walked four hitters. The Lady Broncos struck out eleven Lady Tribe batters.
Chay Sargent had a nice game at the plate for West Texas. She was 3-4, and showed some sweet base running skills. She legged out a hit into a double in the bottom of the seventh, and had two stolen bases in the fifth. Clarendon made a great play on a hard hit ball to center in the top of the fifth, to rob her of going 4-4. Taylor Kirksey was 2-3. Abby Rios hit a double with an RBI and Devin DeLapp had an RBI.
The Lady Comanches are right in the middle of the fight for the District title. Their next game is Tuesday when they host Booker at 4 pm.
