Christa Newman heading to state pageant

February 28, 2012

Christa Newman recently received the title of Miss Texas Panhandle 2012 and will compete this July in the Miss Texas America pageant.

Even though Christa Newman passed her Miss Tri-City crown to Holly Jones Saturday night, her pageant adventure has only begun!
At the Miss Tri-City pageant festivities, Newman was awarded the title of Miss Texas Panhandle 2012. She will be competing this July in the Miss Texas America Pageant.
Newman, who is 18 years old and a 2011 graduate of Sanford-Fritch High School, is the daughter of David and Mickey Newman and has one brother Jacob Aaron.
She has been active in her role as Miss Tri-City Area over the past year, representing the Borger Noon Lions Club as well as the club’s District 2T-1 as its Queen. Newman not only represents this area, but currently also holds the titles of Miss Teen Texas Route 66 and Miss Teen Texas Talent.
She volunteers with Relay For life and also works to raise awareness against cyberbullying and prevention.
Newman has attended Frank Phillips College and plans to transfer to Texas Tech in the future. Her future hopes and plans are to own her own business and someday raise a family.
She has been diligently preparing and competing in several Miss Texas preliminary pageants in the Dallas and Fort Worth area. Miss Texas is a preliminary to the Miss America pageant. Even in her first Miss Texas preliminary pageant, Newman was an alpha swimsuit winner and was Miss Fort Worth’s third runner-up.
The Miss America Organization wishes to provide more opportunities to young women to obtain scholarships and to help fulfill their dreams and aspirations.
