Charles Edward Hendricks, 84, resident of Bartlesville, died at 1:47 AM on Saturday December 24, 2011, at the St. John Hospital in Tulsa surrounded by his family.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday December 28, 2011 in the Eastern Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Michael Vallandingham officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the James H. Teel American Legion Post # 105 honors team of which Mr. Hendricks was a member for many years. Entombment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.Memorials have been established and those who wish to make a contribution in memory of Mr. Hendricks may do so to: Post 105 Honor Guard C/O Bill Lubensky 4418 Grandview Pl. Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74006 or Eastern Heights Baptist Church 1331 Swan Drive, Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74006.Charles Edward Hendricks was born September 3, 1927 at Hominy, Oklahoma to John L. and Myrtle Pearl (Lipe) Hendricks. He was raised and received his early education in Hominy graduating high school there in 1946. He attended college at Tonkawa, and continued education while working in Borger, Texas at Phillips Junior College. Charles entered the U.S. Army in September 1950 and served for two years, where he was deployed to Korea during the Korean War and received his honorable discharge in 1952. After his military services he returned to work for Phillips Petroleum Company in Borger Texas and in Great Bend, Kansas. He was married to Jimmie Inez Harville on May 22, 1953 at Clayton, New Mexico. They made their home in Borger, Texas until 1963 when they moved to Ellinwood, Kansas. Mr. Hendricks retired from Phillips Petroleum Company in 1987. They moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1992. He was an active member of the Eastern Heights Baptist Church, the James H. Teel American Legion Honor Guard, Frank Phillips Men’s Club and Phillips Social Exercise Group. Survivors include; his wife Jimmie Inez Hendricks of the family home in Bartlesville; two daughters Cindy A. Schartz and her husband Chris of Raymore, Missouri and Teri Lynn Nichols and her husband Earl of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; his sister Geraldine Parker of Fritch, Texas; grandchildren Ryan Schartz and his wife Darci and their children Luke and Cole; Trisha Moulder and her husband Todd and their children Riley and Kara; Andrew Nichols, Ian Nichols and his wife Stephanie and their son Tycen. Mr. Hendricks was preceded in death by his parents, a great-grandchild Ryker Aiden Nichols and one brother Sherman Ray Hendricks.
