Cecil Villa Lasley, 68, born Sept. 28, 1942, in Middlesboro, Ky., joined our Lord and Savior May 7, 2011.
He served in the U.S. Navy where he met his wife Mary Felker. Cecil retired from the Navy as a Senior Chief in 1983. He moved to Fritch with his family. He owned his own business, Cecil's Construction, for many years. He was a member of St. John's Church and was involved in Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, spending time working in his garden, and canning the fruits of his labor, making jams and jellies.
He was preceded in death by his father Haskell Lasley and his mother Eula Gray Lasley.
He is survived by his wife Mary Lasley, his children, Michelle and her husband Scotty Richardson of Borger, TX; Mary Lasley of Austin, TX; Barbara and her husband Keith Fowler of Borger, TX; Michael Lasley of San Jose, Calif., and Bridget Lasley of Amarillo; grandchildren, Jeremy,
Allison, and Joshua Ashby; Bryson Alexander, Justine Lasley, Clay Neishe, Ashley Scott, Shelly and Ginger Armer, and Heather and Derrick Fowler; also sisters, JoAnn, Carolyn, Sandy, Rebecca, Deborah, Vicky, Joy, and Mary Margaret; and brothers, Kenneth, Terry, Ricky, Keith, and Robert.
A Rosary will be held at St. John's Chapel in Borger on Tuesday, May 10, and Memorial Mass will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 11.
In lieu of flowers, you may have a Mass said in Cecil's name. Mass cards are available at St. John's office at St. John's Catholic Church.
