Carla L. McWilliams

Carla was born on May 6, 1935, in Phillips, Texas to Frank and Alice Williams. She graduated from Phillips High School in 1953. She married Charles McWilliams on June 25, 1953, in Clayton, New Mexico. They lived in Borger, Texas until 1969 when they moved to Olathe, Colorado. In 1970, Carla was instrumental in getting the girls basketball team started in Olathe. Carla and Charlie were married 59 years and 11 months. They were blessed with 4 children all born in Borger, Texas.
Together they owned and operated Squatters Corner Upholstery Shop. She was a bookkeeper and assistant of West Slope Ag Center. Later she was a waitress at Busy Corner White Kitchen. Carla also did sewing for the public. She was very involved with all of her children’s activities. She was a Girl Scout leader and very involved in school activities.
Carla was a talented seamstress. She designed and made the cheerleading uniforms for the Plemons Elementary Indians. One of the uniforms is on display at the Heritage Center in Stinnett, Texas. Her children, grandchildren, family and friends have a special designed craft that Carla made from love for each of them. Carla was a charter member of the Bunko Club and a member of the RV Club.
Carla was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law, LaWanda McWilliams and son-in-law, Max Lobaugh.
Survivors are her husband Charlie of Olathe, Colorado; brother, Frank “Pee-Wee” Williams of Ponca City, Oklahome; daughter, Tamra Lobaugh and special partner, Rick Spencer; sons, Kendell McWilliams and wife, Anita; Howard McWilliams and wife, Kim all of Borger, Texas and Patrick McWilliams and wife Laurie of Montrose, Colorado; her pride and joy: 18 grandbabies, 12 great grandbabies, and 1 great grandbaby on the way. Carla was also a special aunt to several nieces and nephews.
