CareNet Pregnancy Center will hold its annual Walk for Life on September 24, 2011 at 9 a.m. The Walk for Life will start at the new Care Net site on the corner of 300 W. Grand Street.
CareNet Director Susan Trahern said, ”This fund raiser is to raise money for the center and to make the community aware of what they are there for, to show people there is a alternative.”
She also stated that participants will receive a free t-shirt.
There are no fees and no limits to how many sponsors may be gathered.
The walk is a full two miles starting from the CareNet Center.
Participants will walk down First Street to the United Methodist Church, down Bryan Street, past Borger High School until they reach the tennis courts, then back down Grand back to the Care Net Center. The Center is a Christ-centered ministry dedicated to advancing the sanctity of human life and sexual purity.
Support raised from the walk will help sustain the following services: Pregnancy Testing/Ultrasound, Peer Counseling to find answers about sex, pregnancy, abortion alternatives, Healthy Pregnancy and Parenting Training, Mommy Shoppe that offers many baby and maternity items, and Post-abortion counseling.
Call 273-8373 for more information, to receive a pledge card or to become a walker or Sponsor for the Walk for Life.
