An attempt by three teenagers to outrun a state trooper early Sunday resulted in disastrous consequences.
Early Sunday morning around 2 a.m., three teenagers, Angel Jonathan Morales, 17, Francisco Calderon, Jr., 19, and Kevin Cardona. 17, led a state trooper on a highway pursuit.
According to Joe Medrano with the DPS office, the three were traveling on Phillips Road at an unsafe speed when the state trooper attempted to stop the vehicle.
The suspects fled, causing the vehicle to later spin out of control at the Phillips entrance.
They then hit the trooper’s vehicle, backed up and started to flee once more.
About 20 minutes later, the car came to a stop once its motor burned out.
The three teens were placed in jail for evading arrest, driving while intoxicated, and aggravated assault towards a peace officer.
There were no injuries reported.

Headline Exaggeration?

I'm not real sure why the writer of the story is trying to sensationalize the headline of this story.
I wouldn't think "disastrous" is the correct word for this story. Perhaps "idiotic" would have been a better choice.
Sounds like some teenagers made some really poor choices, and they are going to have to pay the consequences of their actions.

So thankful the DPS took them

So thankful the DPS took them off the street before a real "disastrous" event took place. One of the teens has a little 7 month old daughter. Hopefully this is a wake up call.
