Tonight the Borger Bulldogs Soccer team enter a must-win situation against the Randall Raiders at 6:30 p.m. in District 5-4A play tonight in Borger.
With two games left in the regular season, the Bulldogs are two points behind the Canyon Eagles for the fourth and final playoff berth from District 5-4A.
On Friday, the Eagles pulled off one of the biggest upsets in district play this season by beating Dumas 1-0, giving the Demons their first loss in district play, but more importantly giving the Eagles the two point lead in the standings over Borger.
The Eagles face a tough challenge tonight against Amarillo Palo Duro and wrap up the regular season against Pampa on Friday. In order for Borger to catch Canyon in the standings, Bulldog fans will have to become Don and Harvester fans this week.
The Raiders enter tonight’s contest struggling this season and currently sitting in last place in the district standings with a 1-9-1 record.
But over the past several years, the Bulldogs and Raiders have developed an intense rivalry in soccer which means the Bulldogs cannot afford to take the Raiders lightly.
After tonight’s game with Randall, the Bulldogs will wrap up their regular season hosting Dumas on Friday beginning at 7:00 p.m.
District 5-4A standings
Caprock 9-2-0 9 pts
Palo Duro 7-0-3 8.5 pts
Dumas 7-2-2 8 pt
Canyon 5-5-0 5 pts
Borger 2-6-2 3 pts
Pampa 2-9-0 2 pts
Randall 1-9-1 1.5 pts
