AMARILLO-On day one of the Cavalier Classic Baseball Tournament, the Borger Bulldogs saw mixed results on the field by coming way with a big 12-2 win over the Arbor Academy Lions, but struggling in their 10-5 loss to the Amarillo Palo Duro Dons.

After the Lions took a 0-1 lead in the top of the first inning, the Bulldogs took advantage of Lion pitching woes and errors to score eight runs in the bottom of the first inning,
Colton Hunter and Clay Ellis reached base on singles and would come across home plate on two wild pitches to make it a 2-1 score.
Two more Bulldog runs would come across on passed balls at the plate followed by a Lion throwing error to first base bringing in a run to make it a 5-1 score.
Before the Bulldogs got off the field in the first inning, Hunter would bring in a run on a infield hit followed by a two RBI single by Ellis.
The Bulldogs added a run in the second inning, followed by Hunter Gray leading off the bottom of the third inning with an inside the park home run to make it 10-2 in favor of Borger.
With the score 11-2. Tanner Gowdy ended the game in the fifth inning by bringing in a run on a RBI single to force the 10-run rule.

Four walks and two errors helped the Dons score five runs in the bottom of the first inning and set the tone for the Palo Duro win.
In the top of the second, the Bulldogs responded to the bad first inning with Max Lusk hitting an RBI single and Ben Sharp hitting a two RBI single to make it a 4-5 score.
But the Bulldog miscues once again would prove deadly in the bottom of the third inning, when two walks and two errors led to the Dons scoring three runs to take a 4-8 lead.
The Bulldogs added one run late, but it wasnâ€™t enough to get a comeback win.
The Bulldogs go to 1-2 for the 2012 season and will take on Bushland on Friday beginning at 1:00 p.m. in Amarillo.
Gowdy would get the loss on the mound.
Amarillo San Jacinto 12 Sanford-Fritch 0
On the Pampa bracket of the Cavalier Classic, the Sanford-Fritch Eagles only managed to get one hit in their 12-0 loss to the Amarillo San Jacinto Patriots.
The Patriots scored 10 runs in the first three innings with Matthew Brush getting the one-hitter on the mound.
The Eagles will play Pampa and Dalhart on Friday in tournament play.
