This afternoon, the Borger Bulldogs (2-8) will host the Bushland Falcons (7-1) in their final non-district contest beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Huber Park.
The Bulldogs enter Tuesday’s game snapping a seven-game losing streak on Friday by splitting their series with the Amarillo River Road Wildcats. But the split showed the Bulldogs are still trying to find the right working mix on the pitcher’s mound and in the field, after giving up 30 runs in the two games.
One player who has started to step up to fill one of the starting pitcher roles has been senior lefty Chayse Tracy. After missing the first couple of weeks of the season, Tracy has came back and done a solid job on the mound, including throwing all seven innings in the Bulldogs 3-2 loss to a good Lubbock Estacado team on Wednesday.
At the place, senior shortstop Max Lusk enters the Bushland game coming off a good week where he had a home run in each series with Estacado and River Road.
The Falcons enter today’s game with a 7-1 record, which includes a 10-5 win over the Bulldogs in the Cavalier Classic.
After the Bushland game, the Bulldogs will focus on starting District 1-3A play, which gets underway on Saturday, March 24th when the team welcomes the Dalhart Golden Wolves to Huber Park with the first pitch scheduled for noon.
